Closing of this mailing-list

Laurent Destailleur
Hi

According to the last meeting of the Dolibarr foundation member, the Dolibarr association has decided to close this mailing-list. The following point were taken into consideration for this decision :
- The mailing-list has a very low attendance (average of 5 emails per month).
- The dolibarr forum on www.dolibarr.org is more used and provide more enhanced tool.
- This mailing-list is no more a good tool to provide media (image, video, etc..)
- Maliings are were send using an external service (savannah) and it is not possible to synchronize it with our existing tool. For mass mailing, the mass mailing feature of Dolibarr will be used.

So, if you are a user of this mailing list, you are invited to subscribe instead to the Dolibarr.org forum (or a variant in your language on dolibarr.fr, dolibarr.de, dolibarr.it, dolibarr.es, ...) :
News for freeze or releases will be published on the topic "Announcement & news" of the dolibarr.org forum.

Note: Mailing-list dolibarr-duser and dolibarr-git are also concerned.

Re: Closing of this mailing-list

Hi it is sad to see such a decision as I still find mailing lists way
more comfortable as the forums.
In any case if such decision was made probably more users or
developers prefer to use a forum than a ML.
At last when I was in forum on Dolibarr, I didnt find it so
comfortable and ordered well. Anyway I see also
a lot of projects are switching to discourse[1] , will dolibarr forums
be like they are / were ?

So we are supposed to discuss development directions and questions in which part of the forum?

I think it would be here:
https://www.dolibarr.org/forum/c/developing-for-dolibarr/16

But I am not sure, as I know there is many different forums in
different languages.
So one thing really difficult to understand is really where all the
directioning and plans are discussed.
During the years I could understood that basically is on the Dolibarr
dev camps. But to be honest
that for who does not participate is really difficult to find the
information on what is being worked on.

There is a section "Developping for Dolibarr".
But for suggestions on feature request or development, good place is Github issues (Feature Requests).

For help, forum is a better place.

Hello

Then now is no more possible to use mail feature to discuss ? Or forum
provide a gateway to use mail ?

I understand why mailing list is closed but mail usage is great (can
act as an agregator content). A gateway to follow and discuss could be
nice.

Thanks

For the moment no way to use pure email.
There is an application to discuss using your smartphone here:

We are thinking to enhance the discourse forum so we can reply by email directly but it is not ready yet...
