File-based de-duplication

duplicity-talk mailing list
Hello,

Is it possible to implement file-based de-duplication in Duplicity?
Say we have chain of backups,

Full_backup: file1, file2
Incremental: file2, file3

Then, if hash of "file2" stays the same, it should be stored only once.

Thank you,
A

Hi,

It already works that way.  In fact, if file2 is only partially changed, then only the changes are saved, for the most part.
