OS X

Joseph Oreste Bruni
Has anyone successfully been able to compile SKS on Mac OS X
(Darwin)? There doesn't appear to be any development activity since
2005 so I'm also wondering if this is a dead project.

Get requests   525645  555054  607809  574753
Index reqs       8426    8379    9723    0495
Vindex reqs     71053   58869   41844   34853
Stats reqs        212     233     236     393
Add requests     2910    3114    5802    7469

OK, so now that you're moving forward with porting SKS to OS X,
you'll need to know the following:  :)

The latest released code is (or at least was) in a TLA repo., which
supports distributed development.  However, you may have better luck
with the previous rev., 1.0.9 (which should be tagged in the repo.),
esp. since that's what FreeBSD still uses due to Numerix(?) issues.
Look at the FreeBSD port of SKS:

  http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/url.cgi?ports/security/sks/pkg-descr
  http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/security/sks/

for an example of what you may need to configure for OS X.

Hi guys,

our SKS Server "keyserver.unixbyte.com" will go Offline in a few hours.
We are moving our Servers to a New Datacenter.

I don't know when the Server comes online again. Its not the highest
Priority.

Just for Info.

*sincerely,
Frank Isemann

Frank,

I've noticed that neither keyserver.unixbyte.com neither unixbyte.com SLD
wasn't resolvable for a more than a while -- is that intentional?

The domain name is in a redemption grace period (step before pending
deletion) after having expired 22-may-2007 and as such it is not
included in the TLD zonefile.
