Problem with getsms - loads incorrect date-time for sent messages

Chris Kirkpatrick

I have a problem with getting sms messages from my Nokia phone:

when I read the Inbox using the command

gnokii --getsms IN 1 2

it reads the messages, with the correct receipt date and sender number etc. (See gnokiidumpIN)

When I read the Outbox using the command

gnokii --getsms OU 1 2

it reads the messages correctly but lists the date and time for every message as Date: 2000-00-00 00:00:00 +0000

and in every case the recipient is listed (incorrectly)  as +35856789123456789123 (See gnokiidumpOU).

If I inspect the message properties on the phone itself, the correct recipient numbers and date/time are displayed.

Using gnokii v 0.6.30 (cofiguration file attached)

Nokia 2323c connected by bluetooth to Linux computer:

System:    Host: quaker Kernel: 4.2.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 x86_64 (64 bit)
           Desktop: Xfce 4.12.2
           Distro: MX-16_x64 Metamorphosis 14 December 2016
Machine:   Device: desktop Mobo: ASUSTeK model: A88XM-A v: Rev X.0x
           BIOS: American Megatrends v: 1301 date: 04/01/2014
CPU:       Dual core AMD A6-5400K APU with Radeon HD Graphics (-MCP-) cache: 2048 KB

Attached files: .tar.gz of output from above commands with debugging enabled.

I'd be grateful for any ideas you might have.

because sent messages have no date (that's the GSM standard)

that's what the phone writes in the PDU (+358 is the international
prefix for Finland...)

gnokii 0.6.31 has some support for Series 40, your Nokia 2323c seems
to be a Series 50 but your debug log looks similar
