SKS - FreeBSD Patch & Questions

Proskurin Kirill-3
Hello all!

Im fighting with SKS few time and found a bug at FreeBSD SKS port.
Then you try to run sks with "-basedir" option it it don`t work, because
it dublicate a path to basedir like this:

%sks -basedir /var/db/SKS build
Fatal error: exception Unix.Unix_error(20, "mkdir",
"/var/db/SKS//var/db/SKS/KDB")

This patch fix this. You just need to put it at
/usr/ports/security/sks/files/   and reinstall sks.

And im have a few question:

1) And could some one be so nice to tell me at... normal english, what
is a "sks recon" option will do? *documentation... im so need it :-) *

2) "Pbuild" used only for a reconciliation server... Im need it if im
plan to use my SKS standalone? If "Yes", how much "-cache [mbytes]
-ptree_cache [mbytes]" im need to define?

3) *fantastic one*
Could someone write a port of a sks 1.0.10 for FreeBSD?...
And were im can read a changelog from 1.0.9.2 to 1.0.10?

I had tried this but failed. The numerix changes were too painful as I
recall. It would be nice indeed if somebody could get this working.

There has been some talk in the past about replacing numerix with
BigNum. But I don't believe this was ever implemented.

Greetings,
Johan

There is a version available that can be checked out using bzr:

  bzr checkout http://minsky-primus.homeip.net/sks-archive/mainline

that supports Numerix 0.22.  I don't currently run an SKS server so I haven't been able to test this myself, but if some adventerous soul wants to try it out and yell at me about bugs, I would be happy to do some work on it.

This compiles out of the box on a FreeBSD 6.2 box (i386) - which is an
improvement over both 1.0.9 and .10 releases. I'm now running this
version on keyserver.stack.nl and so far it seems to be working fine.

Johan

I've just upgraded pks.aaiedu.hr (Solaris machine) to lastest bzr
snapshot, seems to be working fine. Numerix build is usually broken on
Solaris -- it relies on "echo -n" and some other shell features not
available on Solaris sh, but nothing what some search/replace on remake
files won't fix.
