assert not upper_a.lstat(), trying to backup to a bitcasa mount on linux

The bitcasa mount appears to be case-insensitive/case preserving.
The rdiff-backup FAQ cites a similar problem on CIFS and sshfs, each with its
own workaround. How to find the workaround for Bitcasa's fs?  Thanks.
