gossip peering

Stephan Beyer
Hi,

I set up sks.pkqs.net today; just a simple sks 1.0.10.
The keydump is from March, so I'd like to get the server in sync asap.
sks recon is ready and is filling my logs with "No gossip partners
available", so - anyone? ;-)

The membership entry for the server is
        sks.pkqs.net 11370
as you can imagine.

Thank you.

Stephan

OK, "keyserver-sks.kjsl.com 21370" should be attempting contact soon.
Feel free to add [hidden email] to your mailsync
while you're at it.  Thanks.

Gah!  :(  Please use port 21370 and the DNS name, not this:

  Gossip Peers
     [snip]
     69.36.240.250 11370

Nothing is listening on that port:

  %telnet 69.36.240.250 11370
  Trying 69.36.240.250...
telnet: connect to address 69.36.240.250: Connection refused
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host

For comparison, a telnet (v. gossip) connection to the correct place
looks like this:

  %telnet keyserver-sks.kjsl.com 21370
  Trying 69.36.240.250...
  Connected to keyserver-sks.kjsl.com.
  Escape character is '^]'.
  Connection closed by foreign host.

Thanks.
