memory fail on getsig()?

duplicity-talk mailing list
Googling doesn't show any discussion about it. This is barfing for me (again, 0.7.11, b2).

..in GPGWriteFile..
[...]
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/duplicity/diffdir.py", line 686, in get_data_block
  if fp.close():
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/duplicity/diffdir.py", line 440, in close
  self.callback(self.sig_gen.getsig(), *self.extra_args)
File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/duplicity/librsync.py", line 218, in getsig
  return ''.join(self.sigstring_list)
MemoryError

How much memory do you have available for duplicity?  You may need to free some.

...Thanks,

Re: memory fail on getsig()?

About 600mb of memory and a gig or two of swap. Not much choice with a Rasperry Pi; guess I'll build a server with more memory.

Re: memory fail on getsig()?

I wish it would run in such limited space, but it won't.  Some major rework is necessary for small footprint.

...Thanks,
...Ken

Re: memory fail on getsig()?

well, i had it running on an openwrt router once years ago (just wanted to see if it works ;), so generally it does. it just dies when the files or the number of files blows the amount of memory avail it seems.
