sks recon keeps failing

kmkaplan-3
Hello,

I had an SKS server running fine for a couple of months.  But now the
sks recon process keeps dying with the following message:

    2007-11-18 15:18:50 Opening log
    2007-11-18 15:18:50 sks_recon, SKS version 1.0.10
    2007-11-18 15:18:50 Copyright Yaron Minsky 2002-2003
2007-11-18 15:18:50 Licensed under GPL.  See COPYING file for details
    2007-11-18 15:18:50 Opening PTree database
2007-11-18 15:18:50 Setting up PTree data structure
    2007-11-18 15:18:50 PTree setup complete
2007-11-18 15:18:50 Raising Sys.Break -- PTree may be corrupted: Failure("remove_from_node: attempt to delete non-existant element from prefix tree")
    2007-11-18 15:18:50 DB closed

I have tried removing the PTree directory then "sks pbuild", and even
getting a fresh dump and running sks_build.sh to no avail.  Has anyone
already seen this or has any lead to solve the problem?

Thank you,
Kim Minh.

Removing ./PTree and rebuilding should have done it.  Googling for
"remove_from_node ptree" showed two other people had the same problem,
but they never posted their solution(s).  Are you sure the rebuilds
of PTree and then both DBs actually happened (in the right spot)?  Run
"find / -name PTree -print" to make sure you don't have multiple copies.

I am (briefly) available to login via SSH and look around.

Yes I am sure.  As I said I even rebuild from a fresh dump and got the
same thing.  The find just returns the expected path
(/var/lib/sks/PTree here).

After trying many things, and wasting much of Janson Harris' time, he
hinted on my RAM being bad.  So I arranged for the server to be
rebooted.  After rebuilding everything all is working fine now.
Leaves me wondering about the quality of my server :-(

Thank you Janson for your help.
